Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.B) posted its seventh consecutive session of loss on Tuesday, with the stock closing 0.89% lower from its previous close at $396.69.
BRK.B has lost 4.47% of its value during the course of the last six trading days. The stock closed 1.35% lower on April 10.
Comparatively, the broader Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund ETF lost 4.17% in the last six trading days.
The financial giant is expected to announce its Q1 earnings on May 3. The consensus EPS estimate is $4.65 (+26.03% Y/Y) and the consensus revenue estimate is $80.01B (-6.30% Y/Y).
Berkshire Hathaway's Q4 operating earnings rose 28% from a year ago, driven by improvements in insurance underwriting and investment income, which more than offset declines at its railroad, utilities and energy, and other businesses.
Warren Buffett hopes Berkshire Hathaway will reach a $1 trillion market cap, as its shares are near all-time highs and the market cap is close to $900 billion, Seeking Alpha author Steven Fiorillo said in a note.
There are risks related to economic factors and insurance claims, Fiorillo said.
The company's current valuation looks fair from a long-term perspective, but the share price could experience a correction during 2024, SA contributor Karlsson & Partners noted.
SA analysts give the stock a Hold rating.
Meanwhile, the Quant Rating system grades BRK.B as Strong Buy with a score of 4.96 on a scale of 5. The rating system considers factors such as Growth, Profitability, Momentum and Revisions.
The sell-side analysts rate the stock as Buy, with an average price target of $438.50.
The stock finds its place in the Goldman Sachs list of 10 large S&P 500 companies that are expected to grow sales by 15% year/year and post EPS growth of 32% in Q1.
